| MONDELLO PARK 'Become A Racing Driver' Competition FormulaSheane Formula Sheane is Ireland's only one-make Single Seater Racing Championship and is run for identical Rover powered cars built by Sheane Cars in Co. Wicklow. The cars in the championship are the Brainchild of David Sheane who was also responsible for the introcuction of Formula Vee in to Ireland. A highly tuned Rover K Series engine is used along with a Rover gearbox in a purpose built chassis running with standard bodywork and a specified wet and dry weather tyre. The Irish Formula Sheane championship races at Mondello at least six times per season usually with a single race per event but occassionally running double headerss. Whether a single or double race event there is one qualifying session to decide the grid for both races. The same grid can be used for each race or a drivers fastest time in qualifying can count for the grid for race one with his second fastest lap counting for race two. Alternatively the finishing order for race one can be used as the starting line-up for the second race. The Formula Sheane car on offer to the winner of the Mondello Park 'Become a Racing Driver' competition will be prepared for racing by 'Sheane Racing Cars', the creators of the championship, prior to events and will be then be transported to and run at events by the factory team.
